信頼と好意 Part3
「外見」に続く、人の好意を得るために重要なキーワードは、
「単純接触効果」です。
これは、一般向け心理学の本で良く取り上げられていますので
聞いたことのある方も多いでしょう。
社内結婚が多くなる理由でもあります。(^o^)
つまり、毎日顔を合わせていると、それだけで、
相手に対する好意が高まっていくという心理のことです。
心理学者の実験によって証明されている効果なのですが、
体験的にも納得できますよね。
営業マンが頻繁にお客さんところに顔を出すのは、
熱意を行動で示すということもありますが、やはり、
繰り返し会っているだけで、だんだん自分に馴染んできてくれる
という効果を狙っているわけです。
メルマガだって、月1回より、週1回、週1回より毎日発行される
ものの方が、より親しみを感じませんか？
ただ、そもそも双方の間に好意を形成できる素地が必要なことを
忘れてはいけません。
前回お話した「外見」に無頓着だったり、
残念ながら、相手とまったく性格や価値観が合わないような場合、
会う回数が増えることは、逆に嫌悪感を増幅させるだけに
なりますから。
メルマガも、売りつけたいだけのセールストーク満載の内容なら
しつこいと感じるだけですよね。
「去るもの日々に疎し」
ということわざがありますけど、人間は忘れっぽい動物。
しばらく音沙汰がないだけでどんどん相手との距離感が
遠ざかっていくものですよね。
逆に言えば、頻繁に会えば会うほど相手との距離感が近くなる。
相手の好意を得るためには、いろんな手段で、間をあまり
おかずに接触することが必要なのです。
さて、さらに続いて「親近効果」。
これについては、私は
「自己開示を通じた親近効果」
という視点でご説明しています。
ちょっと恥ずかしさが先に立つので、なかなかやりにくい方も
いらっしゃると思いますが、自己開示、
すなわち自分の生い立ちや興味関心、価値観、考えていること
などをどんどんさらけだしてみてください。
そうすると、相手は、あなたのことを深く知るにつれ、
親近感を持ってくれるようになります。
誰だって、知らない人に対しては警戒感を持ちますよね。
しかし、より相手を理解するにつれ、警戒感が薄れ、
好意を持つようになるわけです。
たとえば、会ったこともないブログ、メルマガの作者の中で、
すごく好意を持っている方はいませんか？
それは、しょっちゅうブログ、メルマガを見ているという
単純接触効果に加えて、
その作者の方の書いた文章を読むことによって
より深くその方を理解するようになった結果です。
そして、おそらく、その作者のなにかに自分との共通点や
類似点を見つけて喜んでいるはずです。
自己開示によって、自分についての様々な情報を提供すると、
いろんなところで共通点や類似点を発見しやくすくなる。
人は、同郷や同窓、同じ趣味といった共通点、類似点を
持つ人にも親近感を感じるし、積極的にそうした仲間を
探しているんですよ・・・
